I moved to Baildon with my wife Barbara in 1977. We have 2 daughters, who both went to school in Baildon and 2 grandchildren. We have run a retail business here for the last 12 years. After National Service in the RAF, I worked for an Insurance Company for 34 years at various locations, including a 4 year contract in Hong Kong. When I retired, I studied for a qualification in Wines and Spirits. My other interests include Cricket, I also commentate for hospital radio on Yorkshire’s matches. I chair an Investment Club, and I am a Rotarian. I enjoy living in Baildon and I joined the Parish Council because I hope that I can make a contribution to preserving the character of this interesting and attractive township. I am particularly interested in planning and I have a background in financial matters. Station Road Baildon email - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Originally from the south coast, I have degrees in Biochemistry and worked in the pharmaceutical industry and then a teaching hospital in America. On returning, I left science and developed other work in landscape design, rural research and small business advice. Diana and I moved to Baildon in 1989 and have been walking its moor and woodlands ever since. I stood for the parish council as I believe it is important for local government to be as close to the people it serves as possible. Chris Flecknoe. Appointed May 2011

I first moved to Baildon in 1982. I have been employed for many years in community development work with local authorities and voluntary organisations. Until 2010, I was privileged to be Bradford Council's Area Co-ordinator for the Shipley Constituency, which includes Baildon. This work enabled me to gain a wide experience of the work of local government at both District and Parish level. I chaired Neighbourhood Forums across the Constituency, including many in Baildon. I was also able to assist with the new Baildon Parish Plan. I am an active member of Baildon Methodist Church, a school governor, a member of the Management Committee for the HALE healthy living project. Becoming a Parish Councillor provides a new challenge for me and I hope to be able to contribute to developing and supporting initiatives which will bring improvements to the local quality of life.
