Alan Martin. Councillor Baildon South WestAlan Martin was co-opted  at the February meeting by the Parish Council as councillor for the South West ward which is the area that covers Coach Road and this area of Baildon.

Alan, who has lived in Baildon for over 10 years is married and has four grown up children. He and his wife are foster parents and are currently fostering four children. A semi- retired joiner, Alan is particularly interested in the environment and would like to put something back into the local community.

Parish Council Handbook

The book is being delivered by local volunteers to all households in Baildon. It is a useful source of local information about local groups, clubs and services. The publication of the handbook was made possible by the generous support of local businesses who contributed to the book's advertising.

A Parish Plan for Baildon

The Parish Planning group is now up and running with members of the local community and councillors taking an active role. The plan will be a common expression of values which will be the result of consulting with Baildon, its residents, businesses, groups etc to think long term about how they see Baildon in 10, 15 years time.

New members onto the planning group are actively welcomed . The next two meetings are on Tuesday 9th March 2010 and Tuesday  13th April 2010.
